💡 Play Tips

For younger kids, we may start with counting each fingers, i.e. 1,2,3,4,5. When the kids get used to counting by playing with their fingers, they can start practicing simple addition and subtraction within “5”. Kids can also learn to play with both hands.

For older kids, we can set our aim at “10”. With more practice, we can all become “the Captain Eyes”

💡 Play Tips

The parent in the video introduced each fingers very clearly so her child learnt very fast . We may also give each fingers a name as a challenge!

💡 Play Tips

We all have our favourite food, characters and objects. We can name two of the fingers with our favourite food. In this way, we can memorize others' preferences joyously.

💡 Play Tips

The level of joy of an interactive game may not depend on the "game rule". Instead the game is full of laughers, joy and positivity, when we devote ourselves into it with full attention.

About Us

The Jockey Club “Play n Gain” Project (2018 September to 2022 February) is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and implemented by the Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education (CAISE) in the Faculty of Education of The University of Hong Kong. The Project is a social-emotional learning project, derived from a research-based social competence programme that has been used effectively for more than a decade since 2004. The Project aims to support parents and teachers as change agents in fostering social skills and emotional development of young children through playing face-to-face interactive games in different settings. The Project begins in kindergarten and has been extending to family and the community.
